Create UDF from Word — convert a petition into UYAP's format

How to use

Choose a .docx or .txt file (or paste text) and press Create UDF. Open the downloaded file in the UYAP Document Editor for a final check.

Why

The UYAP editor runs only on Windows and is slower than Word. Writing where you are comfortable and converting at the last step saves time; for Mac and phone users it is the only way.

Tips

Use ordinary paragraph formatting in Word (no text boxes, shapes or columns). Tables are carried over with borders. Page margins are taken from the Word file.

Frequently asked questions

Can the UDF be uploaded to UYAP?

The UDF is produced in the 1.8 structure (content.xml) the UYAP editor reads and opens there. Before uploading to the lawyer portal, open it once in the UYAP Document Editor to check and re-save if needed; e-signing is done through the portal or editor.

What is carried over from Word?

Paragraphs, alignment, left/right indent, first-line/hanging indent, spacing before/after, bold, italic, underline, font size, tabs and tables. Images, headers/footers, footnotes and list numbering are not (list text becomes plain paragraphs).

Can I just paste text?

Yes. Paste into the text box without choosing a file and press 'Create UDF'; each line becomes a paragraph.

Is the file uploaded?

No; the .docx is read and the UDF packed in your browser.
